This North Carolina-based quartet of singers has produced a lovely Christian recording, sung in African (though we're not exactly sure which regions or dialects are represented here). The style of singing is very classical, as far as harmony and chordal structure ("E-njooni," could be any small vocal chamber ensemble; "Hata Ndimi" is a beautiful classical church choir piece), but you do get a sense of their African origins in many of the arrangements (most markedly in opening track "Shetani"). Even "Mwamba" ('Rock of Ages,' sung in Swahili) is given a classical setting. Their four voices blend very well - these are obviously trained singers. The women's voices are clear and sweet; the men's strong and resonant. If you're looking for a Ladysmith Black Mambazo or Soweto Gospel Choir, this is not it. But if you enjoy tasteful, beautiful, traditional harmonies (with the different language aspect for a little twist), then this one's for you. A pleasant surprise, indeed! (31:09)

"This music is beautiful! It is crisp and mystical. The voices harmonize perfectly. It takes you to a different place, a place of tranquility and peace."
