National Lutheran Choir: While Angels Sing

When an album begins with a song of such strength and subtlety, it leaves the listener thinking that there is nowhere to go but down. That is certainly not the case here. The music seems to get stronger and stronger as the album continues. What is more amazing is the choir's ability to sing so many different styles of choral music so well. Different periods and vastly different composers are represented with similar results: virtual perfection. Favorites are "Tota Pulchra Es," by French composer Francis Poulenc, "O Magnum Mysterium" by Thomas Luis de Victoria, and "In Dulci Jubilo," by Samuel Scheit. Magnificent!
