"The traditional, laid-back sound of Scollay Square reflects neither the typical modern a cappella approach, nor the sound of competitive barbershop; but rather what the group's arranger, Bob Martin describes as "a love of The Great American Songbook, and the legendary singers who interpreted it -– Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole, and all the greats."

Legendary barbershop singer Terry Clarke of The Boston Common acted as a fifth set of ears during the recording of this CD, and singer/composer/arranger and Berklee Associate Professor Sharon Broadley-Martin consulted on post production. Terry Clarke contributed the liner notes, ending with this:
"There are but a few groups whose albums I enjoy playing while driving alone: The Suntones, Buffalo Bills, Mills Brothers, Swingle Singers, Hi-Lo's, and yes, now Scollay Square. You'll see why once you listen to all 12 songs. Enjoy."
