" Rocapella In Concert VS. Rockapella Live in Japan "

Comments:
After listening so often to the CD, "Rockapella: In Concert," I was hesitant to get "Rockapella: Live in Japan" for fear of "more of the same"... as is the case with some of their other Japanese releases which share similar songs with American releases. HOWEVER, I was happy to find out that (though there are a lot of the same songs) the Japan release is well worth getting, for the old songs show their adaptability to the venue, their new songs are amazing, and the between song banter is rather fun and silly. I will clarify. "Rockapella: Live in Japan" is an amalgam of their previous American releases with just a smidge of new material. From their awesome CD "Smilin'" we have "Here Comes the Sun" "Summertime Blues" "Dance With Me" and "No Doubt at All". From their most melancholy (for want of a better adjective) album, "Don't Tell Me You Do," we have "Moments of You", "A Change in My Life", "Have a Little Faith", "Ellie My Love" and "I'll Hear Your Voice". From the previous "Rockapella: In Concert" CD, we have "Pretty Woman" "WITWICS" "Use Me" "Zombie Jamboree" "Keep on Smilin'" "Long Cool Woman". So the only recordings on the Japan CD that I personally don't have previous recordings of are "House of the Rising Sun" "Love Potion #9" "Don't Do It" "My Girl" and "Papa Was a Rolling Stone". And is it really worth getting just for those songs? YES!!!! The sound is great... in both aspects--the guys vocalizing and the recording of it. "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" alone is worth the price of the CD. What are you waiting for? Support you a capella habit and get this CD! I even like the cover art, looks like a stained glass window.
