Most of you have already heard the Real Group - if you haven't, you don't know what you are missing! I got this CD when on a trip to Stockholm, I managed to see them live - what a treat! They sang several of these tunes, in particular 'Ett Liv For Mig' ('A Life for Me'); musically beautiful & clearly moving. I don't understand Swedish, but people in the audience were smiling and crying at the same time. Our own group (Quintessence) purchased scores for 'A Life for me' and 'Man E Man' ('The Modern Man' - very amusing!) from the RG website, and recently sang them at a concert, to great acclaim! Many other tracks are familiar to RG fans, but the collection makes for a fascinating comparison of their range of styles, embracing everything from pop to jazz and several pieces in Swedish (think of it as accessible scat!). 'Vem Kan Segla..' features a solo by harmonica giant Toots Thielemans accompanied by the RG on vocals - lovely! Get this CD, even if you own all the others - you won't be disappointed! (Paul Jay)
