Comments:
As the distributor's comment says, this lullaby from the Philippines really is very beautiful. The song is in 3/4, which sets a nice, lilting mood to the song. After a short introduction of "loo" and "lm", the melody is first sung by an alto solo (which could also be sung by a soprano - it's probably in the mezzo range), accompanied by more "loo"s by the choir. After the solo, there is an effective key-change, which leads into the females splitting into three parts (SSA), and singing a beautiful harmonised version of the melody, while the men continue to sing loo, etc. (Tenor splits into 2 parts here too.) I'm so glad I decided to give this song a try with my choir. The words aren't particularly difficult to learn (it's quite a short piece, and the words are repetitive), and my students just love singing it. We can't wait to give our first performance of this song in a couple of weeks!
